Milverton’s Science Department ignites students’ curiosity about the world around them  and encourages them to seek answers to their questions. Our team of specialist science teachers follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary Science Curriculum which allows for clear progression throughout Key Stage 3.

The curriculum covers six key areas:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Earth and Space
• Thinking and Working Scientifically
• Science in Context

Thinking and working scientifically is embedded across all six areas.

Key concepts are covered and frequently revisited to ensure retention of knowledge and progression tests allow us to regularly monitor the progress of every student.

The importance of science within society is constantly highlighted and students are encouraged to extend their learning beyond the classroom through engagement with events such as British Science Week.
