  • Greg Holden

    Co-Founder and Milverton Principal

    • BA(Hons): 3D Design, Manchester Metropolitan University
    • PGCE: (Secondary) Design & Technology, UWE Bristol
    • 25+ Years teaching experience. Lower Secondary, GCSE, A Level & IB

    Greg has over 25 years of teaching and senior management experience in UK and international schools. He has been the Head of Design & Technology at several prep and senior schools and more recently was a housemaster and the Head of Sixth Form at Marlborough College Malaysia.

    As our Principal, Greg is responsible for ensuring all the different parts of Milverton come together to deliver a great experience for our students and their families.

  • Jim Hewer

    Co-Founder and Director

    • 25+ Years teaching and consultancy experience

    Jim has 25 years of experience in the UK independent education sector. After 13 years at Papplewick School, Ascot, as Director of Sport and Senior Master, Jim went on to found Heritage Education, a successful education consultancy business. Since 2011 Jim has worked with families all over the world to support them in a wide range of education related matters.

    As our Director of Business Development, Jim is leveraging his extensive experience and connections in the education space to help identify and develop partnership opportunities.

  • Cathy Arnold

    Director of Teaching and Learning | Co-ordinated Science Teacher

    • BSc(Hons): Applied Biology, University of Nottingham
    • PGCE: (Secondary) Science, Loughborough University
    • 18 Years teaching experience. Lower Secondary, GCSE, A Level

    As our Director of Teaching and Learning, Cathy manages our team of teachers and ensures that optimal learning is taking place across all year groups.

    Cathy is also Milverton’s subject lead for Co-ordinated Science, having taught in the UK independent sector at Eastbourne College and Channing School. Cathy’s teaching incorporates a wide range of activity styles to help develop students’ knowledge, understanding, analysis, evaluation and problem-solving skills as well as helping them to establish strong metacognitive strategies throughout their learning.

  • Gabby Hogan

    Tutoring Manager | Mentor Lead | Wellbeing Teacher

    • BA(Hons): Jurisprudence, University of Oxford
    • MA: University of Oxford (expected 2025)
    • Extensive experience preparing students for school and university entry through personalised academic enhancement programmes

    Gabby is a graduate of the University of Oxford and has several years of tutoring experience, with specialisms in English and school entry preparation.

    Gabby leads our team of tutors and also our academic mentoring provision with a bespoke, goal oriented programme. Additionally, as Milverton's lead wellbeing teacher, Gabby is helping our students to flourish during their time with us.

  • Charmaine Eason

    Mathematics Teacher

    • BA(Hons): Business and Finance, Bournemouth University
    • PGCE: (Secondary) Mathematics, Bristol University (Teach First)
    • 10 Years UK teaching experience. Lower Secondary, GCSE

    Charmaine is a graduate of the University of Bournemouth and a highly experienced maths teacher. She has a keen interest in online learning and makes her lessons as interactive and accessible as possible.

  • Mark Barker

    English Teacher

    • BA (Hons) English Studies, Sheffield Hallam University
    • PGCE: (Secondary) English & English Literature, University of Birmingham
    • 25+ years teaching experience: Lower Secondary, GCSE, A-level and IB

    Mark has 25 years of teaching experience in the UK working in various types of schools. He has been a Head of Department Department and an Advanced Skills Teacher in state education. Mark has also been an examiner for 7 years, specialising in English Literature at GCSE and A-level.

    In addition, Mark has been a Chair of Governors in Primary Education. Mark is also a qualified sports coach in Association Football and Cricket.

  • Stewart Blake

    Geography Teacher | Special Educational Needs Coordinator

    • BSc(Hons): Geography, University of Wales, Aberystwyth
    • PGCE: (Secondary) Geography, Institute of Education, London
    • National Award for Special Education Needs Coordination, University of Northampton
    • 21 Years teaching experience. Lower Secondary, GCSE, A Level

    Stewart qualified as a Geography teacher at the Institute of Education, London in 2002 and since that time has worked as the Head of Geography within a range of state and independent schools, both in the UK and internationally. In 2015, he qualified as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) which has given him a thorough knowledge of how to differentiate work to support students to achieve their potential.

    Since 2017, Stuart has worked as an examiner for a variety of exam boards, including Cambridge, for both GCSE and A level qualifications. This has given him an invaluable insight as to what exam boards expect and strategies for how students can easily maximise marks within final examinations.

  • Misbah Butt

    Spanish Teacher

    • PGCE: (Secondary) Spanish with French, King's College London
    • CELTA teaching qualification. Madrid, Spain

    Misbah is an enthusiastic and dedicated language teacher with a deep passion for imparting knowledge and fostering a love for languages. She is adept at creating engaging, immersive learning experiences that empower students to reach their full linguistic potential. Misbah is committed to promoting cross-cultural understanding and communication skills in an increasingly interconnected world.

  • Mike James

    Performance Mentor

    • Director of Tennis - Halton Tennis Centre
    • Lead Tutor - LTA Level 4 Senior Performance Coach Qualification
    • Foundation certificate in mentoring and coaching skills (LTA/Catalyst14)
    • NLP Sport Psychology Practitioner

    Mike is the Director of Tennis at Halton Tennis Centre and has been involved in British tennis for over 30 years as a County Performance Officer and as lead tutor on the LTA's Level 4 Senior Performance Coach Qualification.

    As a performance mentor, Mike loves helping individuals and teams understand where they are, where they'd like to be and bridging the gap!
