IGCSE Geography

Outstanding education

The Geography course encourages learners to confidently use geographical data to interpret the world around them.

The IGCSE course aims to:

  • Develop an understanding of location on a local, regional and global scale.
  • Build an awareness of the characteristics, distribution and processes affecting contrasting physical and human environments.
  • Develop an understanding of the ways in which people interact with each other and with their environment.
  • Create an awareness of the contrasting opportunities and constraints presented by different environments.
  • Develop an appreciation of and concern for the environment and the Earth including its people, places, landscapes, natural processes, and phenomena.

The IGCSE encourages learners to confidently use geographical data to interpret the world around them and develops an awareness of the responsibility present and future generations have to create sustainable solutions to global issues.

Assessment is through a combination of examination and coursework.
