At Milverton we aim to develop a passion for languages and the study of other cultures.
The course aims to ensure all pupils:
- Understand and can respond to spoken and written language.
- Speak with increasing fluency and confidence.
- Can write for different audiences and purposes using a variety of grammatical structures.
Teaching is focused on developing the breadth and depth of a student’s competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, based on a solid foundation of core grammar and vocabulary. The course prepares students for successful study of Spanish at IGCSE level.
Objectives of the Spanish curriculum:
Our Key Stage 3 students follow the National Curriculum syllabus for Spanish. The syllabus enables students to express their thoughts and feelings in Spanish and to understand and respond to its speakers in both speech and writing.
