How we can help you

Our tutors have extensive experience across many specialised areas of support - and they’re dedicated to helping you achieve your potential.

Outstanding education

We can help you with...

Whether you need a boost in a specific subject, support preparing for an exam, or to balance homework demands with an elite endeavour, 1:1 tutoring can help.

  • Entrance assessments and UK school admissions

We can help you prepare for UK school entrance assessments, including:

    • 7 & 8+
    • ISEB pretests
    • 11+ and 13+ and Common Entrance
    • Sixth Form admissions

We’ll carry out initial testing to understand your strengths and areas for development, combining this with our knowledge of each school’s entry requirements to create a targeted tuition programme for you.

We also offer interview coaching and mock interviews to help you fully prepare for the admissions process.

  • Public examinations: GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB

Our tutors have in-depth knowledge of different exam boards – with many also acting as examiners – as well as syllabus requirements for each subject.

As well as supporting you with subject-specific tuition, we can also help with revision strategies, independent study habits and exam technique.

And we can prepare a personalised tuition timetable if you need support in multiple subjects ahead of your exams.

  • Key Stage 2

Our Key Stage 2 tutors are experienced primary school teachers who know the curriculum inside out, and know how to engage young people with highly interactive lessons.

We work closely with parents and schools, where needed, to understand where each student struggles most and accelerate their learning.

We also offer reading groups for Key Stage 2 students, for reluctant through to avid readers.

  • Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 is a crucial time that lays the foundations for later GCSE study.

But it can be a challenge to cope with a change in school environment, a bigger workload and an increase in difficulty all at the same time.

We can help you navigate this change with personalised tuition, homework support and help to develop independent study habits.

  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support

Our tutors have a wealth of experience in supporting students with special educational needs.

Additionally, our in-house special educational needs coordinator will work closely with you and your child to provide a personalised learning programme which our tutors will deliver.

This ensures cohesion across all tutoring subjects and the best possible support for your child.

  • English language support (IELTS / EAP)

If English is not your first language, our specialist language tutors can support you to improve your proficiency.

We’ll carry out an initial assessment to establish your current level of English, and create a tailored programme of tuition to help you reach your required level.

  • Academic Mentoring

Our mentoring programme is designed to help you achieve your full potential – whatever your goals may be.

Our team will meet with you to fully understand you, your aims and your ambitions before we match you to a mentor and develop a plan that’s tailored to you.

Mentoring is multi- faceted: we can co-ordinate academic support, organise enrichment or extra-curricular activities, help with applications and interviews, and provide pastoral support.

Students and mentors meet every week, and we hold half-termly meetings with parents to update on progress.

  • Adult Education

Learning isn’t only for young people: here at Milverton, we’re passionate about education for all age groups.

We can offer private or group tuition across a broad spectrum of topics, from beginners Spanish to Art History.

"Thanks to Stewart, she managed to absolutely smash that C/B prediction and achieved an A! We are so grateful for his intervention at such a crucial point, and we were worried we’d left it" too late, but we didn’t need to – thank you Stewart for all your support!"

Feedback for Stewart, Geography

“One of my children has multiple SEN needs which renders language-based subjects much more challenging. However, with Kaleigh's help and support he has thrived and is consistently producing very high levels of work across all aspects of the GCSE curriculum.”
