The Milverton Method

Finding the right support for your child isn't easy

Private 1:1 tutoring can be transformative. But it's expensive — and it can be hard to know whether it's really working.

Learning centres are more affordable. But they often rely on unqualified staff. Your child gets supervision, not teaching.

Apps and online platforms are convenient. But without a teacher to guide them, most children lose focus. Or skip the hard parts. Or simply stop.

Each option solves part of the problem. None of them solve all of it.

The Milverton Method does.

Built on four things that actually work

The Milverton Method isn't a tutoring service or a learning app. It's a structured online programme that puts your child at the centre — and keeps them there.

  • Diagnostic

We start by understanding your child. A short diagnostic identifies their strengths, their gaps, and how they learn. So from the very first session, the programme is built around them — not a generic curriculum.

  • Intelligent learning platform

Each child follows their own adaptive learning pathway. The platform responds to how they're doing in real time — tracking what they know, what they're building, and where they need a little more support.

  • Teacher in the room

A qualified, experienced teacher is present in every session. They watch. They monitor. And when the data shows your child needs support, they step in — calmly, precisely, and without fuss. Not a chatbot. Not a classroom assistant. A real teacher.

  • Weekly progress reports

Every week, you'll receive a clear, detailed progress report through the Milverton parent portal. Topics covered, scores, strengths, areas to work on — and a personal note from the teacher. You always know exactly how your child is getting on.

Not sure where your child is right now?

That's exactly where we start.

Our free 15-minute diagnostic gives you a clear, honest snapshot of where your child is right now. Their score. Their strengths. Their specific gaps — and the misconceptions that might be holding them back.

Get started

See your child's progress. Every week.

No more wondering how things are going. No vague reassurances. No end-of-term surprises.

The Milverton parent portal gives you clear, honest data after every single session. Your child's Milverton Level. Their overall average score. The topics they've covered. Where they're excelling. And where we're focusing next.

Plus a personal written insight from their teacher, every week.

Because you deserve to see the progress — not just hear about it.

From your child's first diagnostic to measurable progress — four simple steps.

  • Choose the right programme

Select the subject — Maths, English or Science — and the cohort that's right for your child's year group.

  • Join a small online group

Your child joins a group of up to 15 students online. Sessions run via Google Meet. All they need is a device and a stable internet connection — wherever they are in the world.

  • Learn, with real teaching support

Each session, your child works through their personalised learning pathway. Their teacher monitors progress in real time — and steps in precisely when they're needed. Every session is targeted. Nothing is wasted.

I have three children on the programme — Years 7, 8 and 10. Each one is getting something different from it, but the progress reports mean I can see exactly how all three are doing. It's become part of our week.

Jeremy McCammon - parent

"We can see exactly what he's been working on and how he's doing. That kind of visibility makes a real difference."

Sarah Rowan - Yr 7 parent

He actually asked if he could do an extra session this week. I wasn't expecting that.

Questions we get asked a lot

What does my child need to get started?

Just a laptop, tablet or desktop computer and a stable internet connection. No specialist software, no extra equipment.

How is this different from a learning app?

Every session has a qualified teacher present — watching, monitoring, and stepping in when your child needs support. An app can't do that. And it never will.

Is this suitable for my child's level?

Yes. Because every child follows their own personalised pathway from their own starting point, the programme works just as well for a child who needs to build foundations as it does for one who's already doing well and wants to go further.

Can my child join more than one subject programme?

Absolutely. Each subject is a separate programme with its own subscription. Many families enrol in two or even three subjects — and the progress reports keep everything clearly separate so you always know how your child is doing in each one.

Does it matter whether they do one or two sessions a week?

Not in terms of continuity — the platform always picks up exactly where your child left off. Two sessions simply means faster progress and more visible improvement over time. But one session a week still delivers real, consistent results.

What if my child misses a session?

Just let us know. Because your child follows an individual pathway, they can continue making progress independently between sessions — and we'll make sure they're back on track as quickly as possible.

Where are your teachers based?

Our teachers are qualified, experienced educators based in the UK. For families in different time zones — including Southeast Asia — we schedule sessions to suit you. Just get in touch and we'll find what works.
